Rev Fr. Nehemiah Nkom of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria has called on Christians to take daily stock of their lives so that they may prepare adequately for eternity in heaven. Making this call during a Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Wednesday November 20, 2024, the clergyman intimated that examining one’s life before going to bed every day affords them the opportunity to identify their sins and to work towards overcoming them.
He said, “At the end of each day, you need to examine the day’s activities before you sleep. Before you sleep tonight, meditate for five minutes. Try to imagine where the work you did here on earth will take you at the end of the day. Try to imagine where your final destination will be. When you reflect for five minutes before you sleep, there are things that you do that you will decide not to do.”
“We do not know when our end will come. Yet, some of us sleep without examining their consciences. We need to prepare towards our end. If we think about our end, we will be prepared at all times. This world is full of temptations. We strive and struggle every day. So, let us try to struggle to see that we overcome the temptations of the world. Let us be prepared at all times.”
