Saturday, 7th day of October, 2023 was another day of joy at Nnobi, Idemmili South LGA, as Sir Pius Ufudo Foundation enrolled seven hundred and fifty indigenes of the community into the Anambra State Heath Insurance Agency’s (ASHIA) health insurance scheme for free.
Speaking shortly before the commencement of enrollment exercise, the founder and Chairman of the foundation Mr Obinna Ufudo described the health insurance programme as an effort to give the indigenes the opportunity to access quality health care whenever they are sick at a very reduced cost. He expresseed worry that so many people now find it difficult to seek for medical attention at hospitals because of the current hardship rocking the masses, adding that his Foundation has come to rescue the elderly and the less privileged ones in his community from such situation. He also pledged to be renewing the premiums for the insurance scheme every year.

who graced the event, commended the Foundation on her mission to save lives and supported the humanitarian gesture by donating amount of money covering enrollment of one hundred people into ASHIA.
The Traditional ruler of the town, HRH Igwe Engr. Nick Obi in his speech at the event, extolled the Chairman of the Foundation Mr Obinna Ufudo (Ochendo Nnobi) for his humanitarian services to the town, describing him as an illustrious of son Nnobi that has the interest and welfare of his people at heart. The Manager of the Foundation Mr Dozie Ojukwu in his remarks, praised the effort of the chairman of the Foundation towards ensuring better life for the community members, adding that both the young and the old have in one way other the other benefitted from his regular humanitarian gestures. He made it clear that the free registration into ASHIA was part of the mission and objectives of the foundation that centered on education and healthcare. He also disclosed that a couple of months ago, the foundation organized a mathematics quiz competition for all secondary schools in Nnobi and awarded scholarships to students that performed excellently, while the schools that did well smiled home with laptops and huge amounts of money.
One of the beneficiaries of the free health insurance scheme Mr Emmanuel Okpala who spoke to Trinitas commended the Chairman of the Foundation for his generosity and love to community , describing him as a good man by every definition. He disclosed that Sir Obinna Ufudo has done a lot of good things for Nnobi community, asserting that his charity services to the community is second to none. Another beneficiary Mr Peter, also rained accolades on the chairman of the foundation, describing him as philanthropist per excellence who is bent on transforming their community. ” He is the one that revived our village Ifite Ogbeabiji. He is currently sinking a borehole for clean water in our village for general use “, he disclosed. Also, Mrs. Nneamaka Umeji, a beneficiary, extolled Chief Obinna Ufudo for his magnanimity to the community members.
It will interest you to know that Sir Pius Ufudo’s foundation has built a gigantic complex at St Theresa’s Catholic Church Nnobi, that houses state of the art primary school, modern library/ e library, multi purpose hall and offices for community use. The foundation, since its establishment, has continued to develop Nnobi community, transforming lives and moving the community to an enviable height. Every holiday, they organise free computer training for interested students, while a good number of Nnobi students are now under the scholarship scheme of the foundation.
