The Parish Priest of St. Holy Family Parish, Akuzor Nkpor, Rev. Fr. Alex Ojo Anosike, last Sunday encouraged Christians to utilize their God-given gifts to positively impact the society.
In his homily, Fr. Anosike emphasized the importance of sharing one’s talents and wealth with others. He lamented that some individuals are selfish with their gifts and wealth, highlighting that these blessings are meant to be shared with those in need.
“God has endowed each of us with unique gifts and talents,” Fr. Anosike said. “However, some people hoard these blessings, forgetting that they are meant to be used for the greater good. We must recognize that our gifts are not solely for personal benefit, but to make a positive difference in the lives of those around us.”
Fr. Anosike encouraged Christians to reflect on their God-given gifts and consider how they can use them to transform their communities. He emphasized that every individual has a role to play in creating a more just and compassionate society.
“As followers of Christ, we are called to be the light of the world and the salt of the earth,” Fr. Anosike said. “We must use our gifts to bring hope, joy, and relief to those who are struggling. By doing so, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and generosity that can transform our society.”
The parish priest concluded his homily by urging Christians to embark on a journey of self-reflection, identifying their God-given gifts and talents, and seeking ways to use them for the betterment of society.
“Let us pray for the courage and wisdom to use our gifts to make a positive impact on the world around us,” Fr. Anosike said. “May we be inspired by the example of Christ, who used his gifts to bring salvation and hope to humanity.”
