A remarkable achievement in the 2023 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) comes from Anambra State’s own Miss Amaechina Chimbusonma Nwadiuto. The 16-year-old student from Regina Pacis Girls’ Secondary School in Garki, Abuja, has emerged as a top performer by securing A1 grades in all nine subjects she undertook in the WASSCE.
Having garnered A1 distinctions in Data Processing, Christian Religious Studies, Civic Education, English Language, Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, Miss Amaechina is now positioned for the National Merit Award as the highest-scoring candidate in this year’s WAEC examination.
Her mother, Mrs. Ijeoma Amaechina, praised her determination and consistency in maintaining an exceptional academic track record since her primary school days. Miss Amaechina’s aspirations have led her to apply for a Medicine course at the University of Abuja, further highlighting her pursuit of excellence.
Anambra State students have consistently demonstrated exceptional performance in both national and international examinations. Notably, Kamsiyochukwu Nkechinyere Umeh, another Anambra State student from Deeper Life High School, achieved a perfect score of 360 in the 2023 UTME. Umeh’s success extended to the WASSCE as well, where she attained 8 A1s and a B2. Her remarkable scores in subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics, Economics, Civic Education, Computer Studies, and Dyeing and Bleaching, as well as her high cumulative UTME score, earned her nationwide recognition.
Kamsiyochukwu Umeh aspires to study Chemical Engineering at the University of Lagos, showcasing the bright futures these exceptional students are carving for themselves.
