Anambra East Local Government Area marked a transformative moment as Chairman Dr. Anselm C. Onuorah, together with key stakeholders, unveiled the “Operation Safe Neighbourhood Initiative.” This initiative introduced an advanced Security Surveillance System and Control Rooms to enhance security measures within the region. “Operation Safe Neighbourhood” is an integral part of the Anambra East Integrated Community Development Plan (Solution-ICDP), previously introduced several months ago.
The unveiling of this state-of-the-art security surveillance system was a significant milestone, providing comprehensive coverage across every corner of Anambra East. This pioneering effort bolsters security within the local government, with the promise of additional security initiatives to ensure the safety of residents and their neighborhoods. Dr. Onuorah emphasized the paramount importance of people’s safety, underlining the system’s role in real-time waste management reports, contributing to the Clean and Green Initiative.
Further emphasizing their commitment to security, a new joint security building for military personnel stationed in the local government was inaugurated. This essential structure was generously funded by Ambassador Dr. John Metchie, a distinguished native of Umueri. The unveiling ceremony was presided over by Air Vice Marshall Ben Chiobi (Rtd), Special Adviser to Governor Charles Soludo on Security, showcasing the unity and strength of the Anambra East community.
Dr. Onuorah expressed his gratitude to Governor Prof. Charles Soludo for his unwavering support and visionary governance approach through the Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP). He also extended sincere thanks to numerous anonymous donors whose dedication to the safety of Anambra East’s communities exemplifies a collective effort for a brighter and safer future for the people of Anambra East.
