In a bid to provide quality healthcare services to the less privileged, Afreka International Foundation has collaborated with St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital, Onitsha, to organize a free ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) medical outreach. The outreach program is scheduled to commence on Thursday, October 31st, 2024, and will run until November 12th, 2024.
According to Very Rev. Dr. Izunna Okonkwo, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital, Onitsha, the consultation services will be provided free of charge. A team of specialized medical professionals will attend to various Ear, Nose, and Throat cases, offering diagnoses, treatments, and surgeries where necessary.
Dr. Okonkwo expressed gratitude to Afreka International Foundation for their philanthropic gesture, stating that the outreach will provide hope for indigent patients who cannot afford medical care due to financial constraints. He emphasized that the foundation’s intervention will enable these individuals to access quality healthcare services and receive treatment for their long-standing illnesses at little, or no cost.
“The Afreka International Foundation has been a valuable partner in our quest to provide affordable healthcare services to the community,” Dr. Okonkwo said. “Their support will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of those who cannot afford the financial risk of medical care. “The free ENT medical outreach is expected to benefit hundreds of patients in Onitsha and its surrounding communities. Services will include: Free consultations; Diagnostic tests (e.g., hearing tests,m); Surgical interventions (e.g., tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy); Medication and treatment.
Patients with ENT-related issues, such as hearing loss, nasal congestion, sinusitis, and throat infections, are encouraged to visit St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital, Onitsha, during the outreach period.
