On Tuesday, 6th August 2024, the Feast of Transfiguration of the Lord, the Parish Priest of Immaculate of Mary Parish, Fegge Onitsha, Rev Fr. Sampson Ogbuebuna charged parishioners to adhere to godly principles on wealth acquisition, asserting that God does not give money to people. The clergyman however explained that God gives people the wisdom and knowledge to make money even as maintained that the grace of God and His anointing do not work in the absence of already established order for wealth creation.
“God does not give money.” He told them. “God does not give naira, He does not give dollar. He does not give pounds, but He gives you the wisdom and understanding to acquire money. He has given us the wisdom, the knowledge and other things that will make you and me to be creative. The progress of your business will come when you put into action the principles God has given for them.”
“He gave us the power to multiply. God blessed man and sent him into the world to multiply. No business will flourish without contact. Therefore, whenever we talk about business growth, we must talk about persons. There is no business you do alone that will proper. You must think about persons and places. Yes, grace will come but God’s grace and anointing will help you to make good use of these contacts. You must know what you are doing. People must know what business you are into. What you do must be something good.”
“God promised to deliver us in hard times. God will deliver you. So during this time of financial strive in the country, God is ready to meet up with whatever is our need. But He is interested in how you do your business. Today, many of us are flashy mothers, flashy sisters, flashy brothers, flashy pastors, and flashy ministers. Today, false prophesies and false messages and hatred have shattered so many businesses. God will fight for you and God bless your labour but you must obey financial laws.”
Fr. Ogbuebuna observed that some persons spend more time praying in the Chapel than they need to. He charged them to strike a balance between prayer and business so that they may get the needed results.
