College of Nursing Sciences of St Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital Onitsha will on Saturday, 30th of September, 2023 hold her 6th matriculation.
The college administrator Rev Fr Chukwunonso Fidelis Nwanze who disclosed this to Trinitas correspondent stated that total of ninety nine 2022 set of students are matriculating, asserting that the
matriculation, would signify they have been properly accepted and inducted into the college and by extension, they have been properly indexed into the nursing council of Nigeria.
” What they stand to learn here is not only academics but social life. At graduation they will be proficient both in character and learning since our college will be bringing them out of the darkness of ignorance to the light of enlightenment.
We are happy to announce that the new gigantic school structure we started erecting in 2021 is at completion stage and will be available for use this academic session.”
The administrator disclosed that the newly admitted students for 2023 session will
resum studies this October.
” Interesting to note that accreditation team from National Nursing council will be here middle of next month October and hopefully once we emerge successful in that accreditation, it will automatically qualify us to start awarding Ordinary National Diploma ( OND) and Higher National Diploma to our graduates. We are also about to present our graduating students for qualifying national Nursing council exam and we are confident they will perform excellently like our previous set that scored hundred percent.
” We are also working towards equipping this place with computers in order to start running computer based test as the courses here may require and we will be using it to harness internal and external exams because the Nursing National council has directed college of nursing sciences to ensure students are acquainted with knowledge of Information Communication Technology ( ICT) that is currently trending in our present age. It can also serve as CBT center for JAMB, WAEC and NECO candidates”
The administrator further rained accolades on Archbishop of Onitsha cum proprietor of the college His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke for his constant material support, social and spiritual support. ” He is always encouraging us to produce a conducive atmosphere for learning. It is good to note that we have graduated three sets of nurses and they are doing very well in every country they found themselves. Some of our graduates are now in UK, USA, Asia counties and some in Hungary. The information reaching us revealed that they are doing very well, and they are of high breed, showcasing the stuff they are loaded with.
Reports from UK disclosed that our graduates who are furthering their nursing programme are at high echelons of academics. To be more precise, they are on the level of first class. One of them who graduated this year in overseas came out with first class. Also, three of our graduates furthering their studies in Hungary are in first class cadre and these excellent performances are testimonies that our college of nursing sciences is impacting quality and finest knowledge in area of health care delivery which is exactly the mission and vision of our dear Archbishop for establishing the college”.
