Anchoring a session during the three-day revival organized by the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Nigeria (CCRN), Our Lady Queen of Peace Prayer Group, St Endas Parish, Zaria, Evang. Christopher David, told the congregation that God kept them alive in order to showcase His glory in and through their lives. The event held in the parish between 11th and 13th September, 2026.The speaker hinged his message on the theme, ‘At a Time Like This’ (2 Chron. 7:14), in maintaining that hard times do not stop God from blessing His people. He noted that sometimes, rather than trust God for what He is doing in their lives, some people focus on the distraction that the enemy is presenting to them and on economic and other challenges confronting them.
He also told them that God is willing to use them to achieve His purpose, but sometimes, they are do not have the needed capacity to function as He intends or such to contain the blessings He has in stock for them. He added that Jabez’s prayer of expansion of his coast was a way of expanding one’s capacities, even as he saddled them with the responsibility of building the needed capacity to contain the mission and blessings of God upon their lives.
“You are alive at such a time as this because God wants to glorify His Name in your life.” He told them. “God can do many things through you. It is not a problem for God to bless you. But the problem is that when difficulties appear in our lives, some of us shout, as if the devil that is fighting them is bigger that the God who is providing for them.”
“It was at a time like this that God used four lepers to feed a whole nation. You are alive today, because God wants to manifest His power through you; embarrass the enemy in your life; take you from nowhere to somewhere; destroy the report the devil has over your life; and do what no man can do in your life and family. God will disappoint the negative expectations in your life.”
Evang David urged them not to allow the enemy to steal their faith in God and their prayer life, no matter what they are passing through. He noted that some people celebrate problems, instead of praying to God, imploring them to deal with their fears, because fear cripples one’s prayer life. “God no longer sees some of us at the place of prayer. When you allow fear in your life, you cannot pray in this season. If you know the God, who has sent you, you will not lose faith.” He stressed.
