The Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, has called on Christians to live in such a way that their lives become a living tabernacle of the Blessed Trinity, urging them to embody the presence of God in their daily actions.
The Archbishop made the call during his pastoral visit to St Peter’s Parish Nnokwa..
Preaching during the Mass, Archbishop Okeke said the mystery of the Trinity is not meant to remain a theological concept but a lived reality in the life of every believer.
“God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit dwell in love and unity. If we are created in His image and likeness, then our lives must reflect that same communion of love, service, and holiness,” he said.
He urged the faithful to avoid reducing their faith to rituals and external observance, stressing that true worship involves allowing God to dwell within and transform the heart.
“A tabernacle is a sacred dwelling place. When you live in grace, when you forgive, when you love sacrificially, when you act justly, you become a tabernacle of the Blessed Trinity. The world should see God in you,” Archbishop Okeke told the congregation.
“Where there is envy, bitterness, and selfishness, God cannot dwell. But where there is charity, humility, and forgiveness, the Trinity makes its home,” he added.
The local ordinary further charged Christians to always keep the commandments of God and follow His ways, explaining that one cannot claim loving God or his neighbor without keeping the commandments of God.
He also enjoined Christians not to regard every suffering including illness, life challenges , problem as a curse , explaining that when people of God face challenge with faith and prayers, the end will turn out to be a blessing.
