Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, paid a courtesy visit to former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his penthouse residence in the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He was accompanied by key figures from the Obidient Movement, including Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the movement, and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, former Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State.
The discussions centered on the current state of Nigeria, with a focus on promoting unity, love, fairness, and justice.
Obi expressed optimism about the possibility of building a better Nigeria with a competent team that has the capacity, compassion, and commitment to drive progress.
After meeting Obasanjo, Obi and his team visited Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the Olubadan-designate of Ibadan, where they discussed similar issues related to national unity and progress.
Obi highlighted the significance of Ibadanland in Nigeria’s socio-economic and political history, emphasizing the need for collective effort to promote peace and harmony across ethnic and political divides.
The meetings reflect Obi’s continued engagement with key political and traditional figures in Nigeria.
