  • SOFIG Support group donates N150m for campaign success

By Chuks Collins

It was indeed an action packed weekend in Awka, the Anambra State capital as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in the coming Nov 8, 2025 election attended two separate well-attended campaign gatherings within the city.

What looked like a signpost of things to come at the November 8,2025 governorship poll manifested at the Marble Arch Hotel’s main auditorium where about five thousand ex appointees of the State Government joined APC and in unison endorsed Ukachukwu’s governorship ambition with high enthusiasm.

These were officers who diligently served the state in different capacities/offices but we’re sadly shoved and tossed aside with arrears of salaries and emoluments like if they don’t matter.

This cheering warm backing was coming on the heels of an earlier endorsement by a very vocal group of about thirty -six thousand registered membership under the aegis of Sustenance of Faith in Good Governance (SOFIG) celebrated its 6th anniversary amidst tumultuous jubilation and excitement.

The charged atmosphere literally turned to a Naira rain as the leading support group backing Ukachukwu, in commemoration of its sixth year anniversary raised so much money from it’s crowd of committed members, well-wishers, friends and supporters. They consequently donated One hundred and fifty million Naira in support of Ukachukwu, the APC Governorship candidate’s aspiration.

Other friends of SOFIG, individuals and groups splashed hundreds of millions of Naira in support of SOFIG.

In his remarks the National President of SOFIG, Dr Kingsley Ezekwelu(Esq) said that the group was formed to restore faith in governance which he said must be anchored on responsibility and responsiveness on the part of duty bearers.

He said that the group has the ambition to be a leading political pressure group committed to promoting unity, responsible leadership and good governance for the advancement of Anambra State

The mission statement of SOFIG, Dr Ezekwelu noted was to foster environment where government anchored on the principals love for unity and respect for diversity through strategic engagement, advocacy and support for visionary leaders to thrive.

He said that the group has knack for integrity, unity in diversity, justice, fairness and accountability as her core values.

Ezekwelu noted that the group has above thirty-six active members who are fully committed to Ukachukwu’s tornado-like wind of glory he brought on Anambra State.

He appreciated the members and officials for their immeasurable contributions towards making the group a brand that stands out in the nation’s political arena.

Dr Ezekwelu expressed the preparedness of the group to take the governorship candidate of APC, Ikukuoma to every family and hamlet in Anambra State.

The chairman of the occasion,
Dr Mike Ejiogu Duru, who is the Chairman/CEO of City Gate Homes
Ltd, Abuja commended SOFIG for standing out to be counted in the coming November 8 guber polls.

He described the APC governorship candidate, Prince Ukachukwu as a man with the Midas Touch to take Anambra State to her infinite glory.

City Gate boss splashed twenty one million Naira on the 21 LGA chapters of SOFIG, three million Naira on the group and thirty million Naira on the founders.

Dr Anthony Ezekwugo; High Chief John Bosco Onunkwo, and the Anambra State chapter of APC also donated generously to cause of the group.

The Deputy Governorship candidate, Iyom Senator Uche Ekwunife commended the group for her steadfastness in creating a unique political brand and environment in Anambra State.

She paid a glowing tribute to her principal, Ukachukwu who she described as a passionate personality who is committed to a better Anambra State.

Ekwunife said that the will of God shall surely be done in November 8 polls and noted that Ikukuoma, a very hard working individual has contributed in no small measure to the political growth of many people in the State.

The Anambra State Chairman of APC, Chief Basil Ejidike who splashed two million Naira on the group on behalf of the party appreciated the efforts of SOFIG in shaping the political future of Anambra State.

The standard bearer for APC in the November 8 polls, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu popularly called Ikukuoma at the occasion expressed his preparedness to run a responsible and responsive administration as governor of the State.

He said that giving the state a good governance is not all about speaking big grammar and presenting non.functional economic theories but in practical issues beneficial to all citizens instead of dazzling them always with big grammar always.

Ikukuoma said that his administration would not relegate the welfare of Ndi-Anambra to the background while building infrastructures that would stand the test of time and satisfy needs of citizens.

Ikukuoma commended SOFIG for her unflinching support for him, noting that he is ready to support the group and all the people working with him.

He appealed to the support group and all other groups that believe in his capacity to turn things around for the betterment of Anambra and Ndi-Anambra.
