The Parish Priest of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Fegge Onitsha, Very Rev Fr Mike Okagbue recently called on Christians to keep hope alive and never despair as we are coming to the end of the year.
He asserted that the 2023 Ember Months including September, October, November and December would be fruitful even as he spoke of the need to put one’s time to proper use.
At the two day pray event which took place in the parish between Friday, 1st and Saturday, 2nd September, 2023 during the Masses, candles were prayed on and lit with declarations of victory made over forces of darkness that have held them bond.
“Something good will come out of this Ember Months” The clergyman assured them. “This is the mature time when God will make everything beautiful. This is the right time to bring forth everything that God has deposited in you. Every hour in your life should be valued. If you do not plan your time, you will live according to another person’s plan. I do not know what you have lost that you now regret but you can still make it. Prophesy to the month of September. This is a season of recovery for somebody. Whatever you have lost from January to now will manifest in your life”
As a way of helping parishioners and other participants to solidify the pattern and remain connected to God, Fr Okagbue announced four Mondays of intensive prayers in the month of September, starting from Monday, 4th September, 2023.. “At the end of the four Mondays, somebody will hear your testimonial. We shall have special prayers.” he affirmed
On his part, Rev Fr Anayo Umeh who delivered the homily during one of the Masses, pointed to the sin of immorality as a major hindrance to answered prayers thereby proffering ways to profitable outcomes.
“Immorality is the major problem of this generation. Many of our youth addicted to pornography. When you watch pornography, the image will cloud your mind when you close your eyes. You maybe asking why your prayer is hanging but some of you have been living together without being married. In this month of September, we are called to be alert, prudent and wise. Avoid sexual immorality if you want results. All generations will remember you if you are chaste,” he added.
