Over 100 candidates confirmed

Parishioners of St Theresa’s parish Nnobi were in a joyful moon last Sunday July 28, 2024 when the Chief Shepherd of Onitsha Archdiocese His Grace Most Rev Valerian Okeke paid a one day pastoral visit to the Parish.
The spectacular event witnessed confirmation of over 100 candidates and blessing of the new podium constructed at the parish.
In his Homily, Archbishop Valerian Okeke urged Christians to be channels of God blessing by being passionate, humble , charitable, kind etc. “As channels of God blessings, we need not to hoard God’s blessings and riches. If God blessed you with riches, share same with your neighbours and always assist the needy without been told.”
The prelate also advised Christians not to focus on their inabilities or limitations because such mentality will stop one from receiving God’s blessings rather, follow things of the world with total faith in God and you will be become successful at all times.
In address shortly after the Mass, the Catholic community extolled the Archbishop for visiting after his last pastoral visit to the parish nine years ago. They also highlighted their achievements under the current parish priest Fr Chibuzor, adding that the parish had witnessed great transformation.
Responding, Archbishop Valerian Okeke commended the parish priest Fr Emmanuel Chibuzor Okeke and the Parishioners for their commitment in developing the parish. He also thanked them for the rousing reception, praying God to bless them abundantly.
The Parish priest Fr Emmanuel Chibuzor Okeke in his remarks expressed unalloyed gratitude to the Archbishop for visiting them and for his love and support to the parish, positing that the parishioners are happy to receive him after nine years of his last visit. He also praised his parishioners for their good hearts and cooperation, describing them as people of faith.
A parishioner Mr Obinna Ufudo who spoke to Trinitas Newspaper said they are very thankful that the Archbishop finds time to visit and see how far they have been doing at the parish, adding that a lot of transformation had taken place at the parish. He asserted that Archbishop’s coming will continue to awake the christian spirit of the community.
The parish CMO president Sir Patrick Umeoji KSM and the parish CWO president Mrs Veronica Emenike in their similar contributions said they are elated over the visit of the Archbishop, stating that his visit will attract more blessings and progress to the the Catholic community. They also appreciated the Archbishop for blessing them with hardworking and dedicated parish priest Fr Chibuzor, describing him as a prayer warrior who is taking the Parish to an enviable height.
Also, Mrs Amaka Ezeani ( coordinator pastoral visit committee) and Mrs Azuka Stainless Ozuagu in their separate remarks said they happy to receive the Archbishop describing his visit as a mission of love.
