The Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha,Most Reverend Valerian Okeke has counseled christians to continue to hold on to their faith since suffering does not define hatred in the face of God.Rather,he pointed out that true christians learn by God’s Passion and that God can bless one through suffering and can never forsake his people.
The Archbishop spoke as he delivered his sermon on Palm Sunday at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha where hundreds of faithful trooped out to commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem otherwise known as Palm Sunday in christendom.

The Archbishop explained that the Palm Sunday was the beginning of the Holy Week.According to him,”It does not mean that there is a week that is not holy, but the church calls this one holy because the great mystery of our salvation is being commemorated in it”.
According to the Archbishop,it is the week of the, suffering, death, victory and resurrection of our Redeemer and Saviour Jesus Christ.
“We learn by God’s Passion, that God can bless you through suffering, and that God can never forsake his people”.
The Archbishop prayed for the faithful saying,”My prayer is that our sorrows will bring us happiness and our problems will bring us Grace”.
