Parish Priest of St Mary’s Parish Samaru Zaria, Rev Fr Augustine Isek has assured the faithful of God’s ability to meet them at different areas of their needs. He spoke on ‘Divine Visitation’ during the ongoing Lenten programme in the parish, citing the case of the man at the Pool of Bethsaida.
Noting that the lame did not know when the Owner of the water came to heal him before he had a formula in mind, the priest lamented that some people limit God to particular methods like the man who expected someone to throw him into the water before he could be healed.
“One part of divine visitation is God reaching you before you reach Him.” He revealed. “It is God reaching you in your problem; reaching you in your desire; reaching you in all your troubles before you walk up to Him. God is aware of your problems even before you ask Him to help you.
I do not know if you came here this evening looking for solution, but tonight, God wants to solve many problems, including those that have been there for many years. You may have been moving from one place to another but if Jesus did it for that man, He will do it for you.
The man did not locate Jesus. Instead Jesus located him. If you have not died in that problem up until now, it means that a time will come when Jesus Himself will remove that problem. It is not Jesus’ problem how long you have been in that predicament. The problem is whether you want to be healed.
”Fr Isek disclosed that some people are not sure whether or not whether they want solutions to their problems, like the man who told stories when Jesus asked if he wanted to be healed. He charged them to seize the opportunity for their divine encounter rather than talk too much about their problems.
