As the mother church marked the feast of Blessed Sacrament, christians have been reminded the need to go for confession frequently before receiving Holy communion.
The Parish priest of Holy family parish Akuzor Nkpor Rev Fr Alex Ojo Anosike who underscored the importance of confession in the lives of communicants, stated that any Catholic who is relegating confession to the background, and still go on receiving body and blood of Christ is not a good communicant.
He maintained that for one to receive the blessed sacrament that is holy, the recipient should strive to be holy and that can be achieved through asking for forgiveness and backing it up with confession, positing that frequent confessions helps every Christian to attain holiness and become more closer to God.
Speaking on the blessed sacrament, Fr Ojo enumerated the benefits communicants can get by receiving the body and blood of Christ, pointing out that it brings us closer to God and reduces the hunger to commit sins, especially sins of the flesh. He advised communicants to take receiving of the Blessed Sacrament more serious and receive it regularly during holy masses.
