The Catholic Chaplain of Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria Very Rev Fr Prof Peter Bauna Tanko celebrated the Mass of Monday, 5th February 2024 in Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish ABU Zaria where he hinged his homily on the Gospel reading, Mk.6:53-56 in encouraging the faithful to have faith in God.The chaplain who spoke on ‘There is Power in Touch’ noted that some people get answers to their prayers for touching different objects of Catholic worship with faith.
He also cited that some nurses in the hospital know how to touch some sick people so that they could feel a bit different thereby tasking the faithful to touch Jesus and allow Him to touch them for a positive change. He told them. “Please just have faith. Sometimes, people express small faith and things happen. Sometimes we do not know how God uses this simple faith but it works at times.
It is through this kind of faith that so many said in today’s Gospel, ‘If we could only touch the fringe of His garment, we will be cured.’ And so they were cured. Some people kneel before the altar with faith and they get their answers. The Lord will always do His own things at His own time. Do not be discouraged.”
