A trained Catholic evangelizer of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Evang Boniface Okoro has charged evangelizers to equip themselves properly for the task ahead when he anchored the Word Session at the Fellowship of Association of Catholic Trained Evangelizers in Nigeria (ACTEN) of the diocese, Sunday 18th February, 2024.At the fellowship which took place in St Enda’s Catholic Church, Bassawa Zaria, he spoke on the topic: ‘Harvesting Among Thorns’ and explained that though thorns may appear small, they can injure anyone or anything that comes in contact with them without proper preparation.
The minister drew his message from the Parable of Sower and the Seed and charged the commissioned to imitate good farmers who prepare before going into the farm for harvest so that they do not get harmed by the thorns.“God has called you and I, evangelizers to harvest souls for Him.” He reminded them. “Jesus knew that there are wolves out there. He is sending you and I as a sheep among wolves. Jesus has told us that there are thorns and there are wolves. A sheep has to be careful because there are wolves out there even in the Church. It is not everybody in the Church that is saved. So we have to start from the Church. We are to gather souls for Him.”Evang Okoro summed Eph. 6 on putting on the whole amour of God as the best preparation and defense against the thorns they are bound to encounter in the field of evangelization.
