Prefect Emeritus,Sacred Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments,Vatican City,Europe,Francis Cardinal Arinze has described the 70th birthday of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Onitsha,Most Rev Valerian Okeke as a major milestone.
In a his goodwill message to the Archbishop,Cardinal Arinze said,”seventy years in this earthly pilgrimage is a major milestone for us humans on which to pause and give special thanks to God,the giver of life”.
Cardinal Arinze told the Archbishop that as he celebrates his 70th birthday,he joined him and his many friends and co-workers to thank the Lord for his mercy and grace.
For seven decades you have generously responded to the Lord’s call to life,service and self offering.Through your priestly and Episcopal ministry,many people have been blessed and human society has been promoted”,he pointed out.
