As the quest to return to paganism and fetish practices, permeate in the lives of the young ones in Nigeria, the youth, especially the Christians among them have been advised to shun idolatry and embrace Christ who is the way, the truth and life.
Igwe Ifeanyichukwu Onwuka of Holy family parish Awada Obosi made the call while chatting with news men during an event at the parish. According to him, it is no longer a news that some of our youth are being deceived to return to paganism and worship of idols in order to solve human problems and progress in life, stating that such notion and idea doesn’t hold water.
He recalled that our forefathers who worshipped idols before arrival of Christianity couldn’t give any good account of what the fetish practices earned them positively, stressing that such families whose their ancestors worshipped the devil and committed all sorts of evils in the name of religion are still suffering the consequences till now.
Igwe Onwuka further enjoined the youth to say no to worship of idols and embrace Christ who has the ultimate power to define their future and make them prosper. ” When God blesses you with wealth and other endowments, you can only worship and thank Him, but when you make wealth through the devil, you are already in bondage because you may pay back with your life as same devil will never let you be or enjoy that wealth in peace “.
Our youth who are jobless shouldn’t resort to sharp practices including “Yahoo business” to make a fortune. Rather, believe in your self, engage your self in a meaningful something, work hard and never relent in praying as there must be progress at the end. Don’t compromise your faith in search for greener pastures but hold on to Christ as He can never fail. ” the parish monarch advised.
