The Secretary, Section of the First Evangelization and New Particular Churches of the Dicastery for Evangelization, His Excellency, Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, has ordained Rev. Frs. Kelvin Okoli and Suleiman Musa for the Catholic Diocese of Zaria. Both priests were ordained, alongside their counterparts, at the Good Shepherd Major Seminary, Kaduna, on Thursday, June 26, 2025 during the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the institution.
Welcoming the newly ordained home during the Mass that was celebrated in their honour, at Christ the King Catholic Cathedral (CKCC), Sabo Gari, Zaria, Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Chief Shepherd and the immediate past rector of the seminary, Most Rev Dr Habila Tyiakwonaboi Daboh, expressed how happy he was for the addition to the clergy in the diocese. He prayed, that as the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Mary on that day, “our newly ordained may be guided by inspiration of the Blessed Virgin and that we all will always find time to listen to her and to take our prayers to her.”
His Lordship continued, “I am really filled with joy because it is not an easy journey. It is a journey filled with ups and downs. Now that they have succeeded in becoming Catholic priests. We are lucky and should be grateful to God. And so, as Zaria diocese, we are happy to have you with us.”
Bishop Daboh discouraged the faithful from luring the honorees into sin, imploring them to support them in ways that promote their service to God and His people. He also solicited such support for seminarians as they continue their formation.
