Sir Paul Chukwuma, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for the 2025 Anambra State governorship election, has pledged to lead with compassion, empathy, and integrity, stating that his aspiration is rooted in service, not personal ambition.
Addressing supporters and members of the public, Chukwuma underscored his commitment to people-oriented governance, promising to respond directly to the needs of ordinary citizens. “I am not stepping forward as a mere politician, but as a brother, a son, and a servant to the good people of Anambra State,” he said. “I have heard your cries – and I will wipe your tears.”
Chukwuma, who hails from Umueri, said his political journey was shaped by firsthand encounters with residents across the state. “I have walked our streets, sat with our elders, and broken bread with our traders. I know where it hurts, and I know where we can begin to heal,” he stated.
His policy agenda prioritizes investment in critical infrastructure, improved access to quality education, healthcare reforms, enhanced security, and sustainable youth employment. He also highlighted the importance of empowering women and ensuring inclusive development across urban and rural areas.
“My mission is to bring government to the doorsteps of the people,” he said, adding that his goal is to transform Anambra through “people-centered leadership” that addresses real issues affecting families and communities.
In addition to outlining development goals, Chukwuma made a strong case for ethical leadership. He assured voters of a transparent, accountable administration if elected, stating, “Let it be known today: I am not here to make empty promises. I am here to work, to build, and to deliver. I am here because I was born for this.”
With the governorship election on the horizon, Chukwuma’s campaign continues to gain momentum as he positions himself as a candidate of compassion, vision, and reform.
