The Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, on Easter Sunday, April 20th, commended the illustrious daughter of Ojoto town, Princess Amaka Obi (Iyom Ijele), for building bus stops at various locations in Ojojo.

The Governor, who spoke through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Engr. Mike Obiekwe, during the commissioning of the bus stops, described Princess Amaka Obi’s bus stop projects as great gestures that will contribute significantly to community development. He stated that she is cueing into his administration’s vision that centers on all-round development.

The Executive Chairman of Idemili South Local Government, Hon. Amaka Obi, in her speech, commended the bus stops donor, describing her as a good daughter of Ojoto who is championing a “think home” philosophy. She disclosed that recently, Princess Amaka Obi also installed solar-powered street lights in some locations in Ojoto.

While commending the donor for assisting the working Governor Soludo in community development, the Chairman urged other Anambrarians to emulate the donor by supporting the current administration in the area of development.

The traditional ruler of Ojoto HRH Igwe Gerald Mbamalu who was represented at the event extolled the donor for beautifying the town with morden bus stops.

The donor, Princess Amaka Obi, in her speech, said Governor Soludo’s developmental strides within three years in office motivated her to participate in community development. She urged fellow Anambrarians to join hands in making Anambra the “Dubai of Africa,” as the Governor promised during his campaign.

She made it clear that the Governor is performing excellently well to turn that dream into a concrete reality but cannot achieve it alone, meaning that all hands must be on deck. “In essence, contribute your quota in the area of development, no matter how small it may look. Don’t fold your hands waiting for the government to do everything for your community; rather, be part of that development,” she said.

“I also want to remind Nigerians and Anambrarians that in anything you are doing, you should have passion for it, help your town, come close to them, listen to them to know what they need or their problems, and they will be happy with you.”

Chief Mrs. Chibundu Ekwunife, who spoke to the press, poured encomiums on the donor for remembering her town in a special way by building bus stops and installing street lights. She described her as a dynamic and ebullient daughter of Ojoto who wants the best for her hometown, notwithstanding that she didn’t marry into Ojoto.

Others, including Lady Nneka Onyejekwu and Comrade Vivian Obika, in their separate remarks, praised the donor, describing her as a generous woman.
