Members of Fellowship of Catholic Postgraduate Students, (FCPS), Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, have been charged to strike a balance between research, career and marriage.
Giving this charge on the first day of the Week, Tuesday, 16th April 2024, the President of Catholic Women Organization (CWO), of the parish, Dr. (Mrs.) Fidelia Mbowheing Whong intimated that balancing the concerns of postgraduate regarding research, career and marriage career is a complex task.
With respect to their research, she advised the students to collaborate with the right people in order to exchange ideas.She said, “Ultimately, achieving a balance between research, marriage and career requires good planning, effective communication and flexibility.
By prioritizing your commitments, seeking support from each other, staying focused on your goals, you can successfully navigate the challenge of a private life while maintaining fulfilled personal and professional life.”On his part, the Assistant Secretary of the parish, Mr. Abel Adegoke Ogbonyomi pointed to God as the Ultimate Balance between postgraduate programme, career and marriage.
He leaned on the scriptures in nudging them to surrender everything to God so that He may direct their paths, orienting that, “You are bringing your certificates and career to settle down with someone you may have known for few years.
You are going to share all these with that person. Marriage calls sacrifice. Anybody who is not ready for sacrifice is not ready for marriage.”
