Catholic Women Organization of Nigeria (CWON), of Catholic Diocese of Zaria held her 2025 Diocesan Conference/Award Ceremony at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Pastoral Centre, Graceland Zaria, October, 2025. The event commenced with the Holy Mass, presided over by the Vicar General of the diocese, Very Rev Fr. Michael Pius Kagarko who commended the group for their positive contributions towards the growth of the Church.
Three categories of awards, namely: Precious Mother, Award of Excellence and Service Award were presented to some members of the women group as well as some non-members who have supported them and those who been supporting them in one way or the others.
In her address of welcome, the Diocesan President of the body, Mrs. Afinik Mathias Kaza thanked the bishop of the diocese Most Rev Dr. Habila Tyiakonaboi Daboh, the Vicar General, their Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Dr. Julian Ibe and many others for the unique roles they have been playing and for the sacrifices that they have been making for the body. She thanked members for their roles in their families, the Church, and the society, praying that they may continue to lead by good examples, by being obedient to the Church and her leadership.
“Let integrity, humility, kindness, generosity, prudence and all other virtues be our watchwords and attributes.”
Mrs. Kaza who reminded members of the executives of the need to remain focused, resilient and committed to the oath which they took at the altar of God, also thanked everyone who supported and donated to the conference. She expressed desire to achieve great feat in building a vibrant, greater, stronger and peaceful CWON, in the diocese.
