His Excellency the Most Reverend Michael F. Crotty, appointed by His Holiness Pope Francis on July 16, 2024, the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, has officially arrived in Nigeria. The Irish-born Archbishop, who holds the title of Titular Archbishop of Lindisfarne, was warmly welcomed at the Nunciature/Vatican-Holy See Embassy in Abuja earlier today.
The arrival of the Apostolic Nuncio was marked by a celebratory atmosphere at the Nunciature, with well-wishers sharing photos from his arrival.
The wider Nigerian Christian community, extended heartfelt greetings to the new Apostolic Nuncio. The faithful expressed their joy and prayers for Archbishop Crotty’s mission in Nigeria – adding prayers for strength, wisdom, and courage to guide the Archbishop in his diplomatic and spiritual duties.
