Various reports have been trailing this year’s Mothering Sunday celebrations held across the Archdiocese of Onitsha.
At the St Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital Chaplaincy,Onitsha,it was a joyous day dedicated to honour remarkably,exceptional and hard-working women who embody the spirit of motherhood.
The Holy Mass was presided over by the priest in charge of St Charles Borromeo Specialist Hospital,Rev Fr Dr Izunna Okonkwo as the Chief Celebrant and was assisted by Rev Fr Dr Alfred Okeakpu,Vice Rector of Blessed Iwene Randi Major Seminary,Onitsha.

and appreciated mothers for their unwavering dedication, commitment, and sacrificial love, in the family, Church, and the society.
He encouraged mothers to continue their noble work, of offering support, guidance, and strength to their families, Church, acquaintances, colleagues, and communities, in which they may find themselves, by being genuine witnesses to the Risen Lord, just like the Apostles. He also admonished them to be faithful, hopeful, and patient in all situations in life, so as to qualify to receive the crown of glory prepared for all who endured till the end. He also enjoined all present to always look unto Incarnate Son of God, the Risen Lord, in all situations in life, for he will never ever fail them.
During the Mass, special prayers were offered, among others, for suffering, and deceased mothers.
The celebration of Mothering Sunday at St. Charles Borromeo Specialist Chaplaincy was a meaningful and uplifting occasion, affirming the profound impact of maternal love and devotion.
As we honor mothers today and every day, let us carry forward the spirit of gratitude and appreciation, cherishing the invaluable role they play in our various communities.
After the Mass, there was a brief health/wellness talk by St. Charles Borromeo Hospital’s Dietitian, for members of the congregation, and refreshment sponsored by the Hospital Chaplaincy CWO.
A weeklong activity by the mothers before the Mothering Sunday featured,March past,Egg Race,unveiling of the Blessed Virgin Mary,testimonies among many other activities.
