Renowned architect and promoter for the cause of beatification of Bishop Shanahan Sir Chike Enweonwu (KSM)is dead and set for burial.
Sir Enweonwu was the proprietor of the once famous Niger Heritage Hotels and Heritage schools.
He contributed handsomely to
the renovation of St Mary’s Catholic Church,Onitsha Inland Town and made other contributions towards growth of the church in Onitsha.
Notably,Sir Enweonwu erected a statue of Bishop Shanahan at the strategic route of the early missionaries to Onitsha at the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha.
He was a Knight of St Mulumba,St Mary’s Subcouncil,Onitsha and was honoured with a Papal knighthood by the Pope.
While announcing his demise,the Enweonwu family of Daike-Anyo clan,Umuaroli Village,said Sir Chike died on 19th June,2023 and would be buried on 1st September 2023,all things being equal.
He was said to have died overseas after an undisclosed illness.
