A joyous celebration marking the silver jubilee of Rev Sr Nkiruka Okafor’s final profession into the Immaculate Heart of Mary Congregation was held at St. Patrick Cathedral Awka. The event began with a Eucharistic celebration in thanksgiving for God’s faithfulness to Sr Okafor who also is the CEO of Immaculate Heart Hospital, Nkpor.
Presided over by Archbishop Valerian Okeke, the Catholic Bishop of Onitsha Archdiocese, and Cardinal John Onaiyekan, the mass gathered a multitude of priests and religious figures. Cardinal Onaiyekan, in his homily, praised Sr Nkiruka Okafor for her unwavering life of generosity and charity, acknowledging her remarkable contributions.
Expressing her gratitude to God for guiding her through 25 years of religious life, Sr Nkiruka Okafor extended heartfelt thanks to Cardinal Onaiyekan, Archbishop Valerian Okeke, and the priests and religious who graced the occasion, adding a touch of spiritual significance to the jubilant atmosphere.
