Valentine Ozigbo, respected business mogul and leading Anambra gubernatorial hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APC, has boosted the morale of the party in Anambra State, as he graced the historic homecoming event held in Nnobi, Idemili South LGA, on Saturday, March 8.
The event, which welcomed stakeholders, returning party members, and new entrants, marked a strategic step in consolidating APC’s growing grassroots support in the region.
Several youth and women groups featured prominently at the event, and hundreds of enthusiastic party faithful expressed excitement at Mr Ozigbo’s candidacy.
Mr Ozigbo is a multiple-award-winning global CEO and one of Nigeria’s most recognised philanthropists.
Speaking at the gathering, Ozigbo commended the party leadership for fostering an environment of inclusivity and expansion, highlighting the importance of unity as APC gains momentum in Anambra.
‘I commend the leadership of APC in Nnobi for opening its doors and embracing new members with open arms,’ Ozigbo, who was represented by Ike Bishop Okoronkwo, the National Coordinator of the Valiant Movement, said. Ozigbo was unavoidably absent as he was at the APC headquarters in Abuja undergoing screening for the party’s governorship primary slated for next month.
‘As a party, our strength lies in the people, and today, we are seeing firsthand the surge of grassroots support that will drive us to victory in November.’
He expressed his appreciation to the party executives present for their commitment to building a formidable political force in the state.
The high point of the meeting was the official welcome and decoration of new party members, including Ibenwelu Francis Ibenwelu, Director of Welfare for the Valiant Movement, alongside other community leaders and stakeholders who pledged their allegiance to the APC.
In February, Ozigbo launched the Valiant Movement, a tech-driven, youth-led grassroots political action group committed to actualising his Ka Anambra Chawapu (meaning Anambra must shine brighter) vision.
Members of the movement, known as Valiants, were represented by a high-powered delegation of its members at the event.
