The Parish Priest of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Rev Fr Sebastian Vincent has reminded the faithful of the possibility of dying before the next Lenten Season. The priest who made this known in the parish on Ash Wednesday, 14th February 2024 also told them to go about their Lenten observance with proper disposition.“The Season of Lent is packed full.” The priest told them.
“Today we begin a season of grace, reconciliation, repentance and mercy. This Season is like an unquantifiable treasure and an open floodgate. You have so much to tap from this Season. If you have the right disposition, you can never go through this Season without getting anything. The disposition is what counts.
There is always something to be done. Be conscious of your Christian dignity. Be conscious of what you want in the end, the prize. It is time for reconciliation with God and men. Engage yourself in this Season of Lent as your one. It may be the last for some of us.
Have the right disposition. Be motivated and inspired from within and you will never miss your goal.Fr Vincent told them that fasting is not only about food. He told them to fast from hurting people and to put a smile on the faces instead.
