The Cardinal Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese,most Rev Peter Okpalaeke was hosted by the Sisters of Immaculate Heart of Mary on July 16,2023 at the Villa Mater Christi IHM Sister’s Retirement Home,Nkpor.
The visit started with a Holy mass which the Cardinal concelebrated with fr Lawrence Nwankwo,Chancellor of Ekwulobia Diocese,very Rev Fr Peter Okonkwo,a lecturer at the Veritas University Abuja and Fr Emmanuel Ogbuowelu,acting chaplain of IHM Sister’s complex,Nkpor.
In his remarks the Cardinal thanked both the elderly and new sisters for their efforts in sustaining and spreading the Gospel as well as their resilience in sustaining the congregation.
Among other things,the Superior General of IHM,mother Mary Claude Oguh thanked the Cardinal for visiting adding that it was another opportunity to congratulate him on his elevation to the position of a cardinal.
The sisters had a brief interactive session with the Cardinal and his team afterwhich Sr Mary Ursula Ekwe gave the vote of thanks.
