Dwelling on the topic, ‘The Power in the Blood of Jesus’ during the Lenten retreat organized by members of Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Nigeria (CCRN), Samaru Deanery of the Catholic Diocese of Zaria, Rev. Fr. Joseph Ikanyi called on members to make the most of the Blood of Jesus. During the event which took place in St Mary’s Catholic Church, Samaru, Zaria, Sunday, March 22, 2026, the priest explained that the Blood of Jesus is one of the weapons that the faithful use to possess their possessions, possess their freedom, break bondages and release prisoners.
He catechized that the season of Lent revolves around the Blood of Jesus, adding that, they are who they are because of the Blood of Jesus. Recalling that, in the Old Testament, the blood of animals brought about temporal solution, he explained that the Blood of Jesus brought permanent redemption, assuring them that His Blood has the power to redeem them from every calamity, disaster, and pestilence.
He listed redemption, healing, reinvigoration, forgiveness of sin, promotion, restoration and victory as some of the special powers of the Blood of the Lamb, disclosing that many people are under captivity because the power of the Blood has not touched them. He then implored them to empty themselves, so the Blood of Jesus may refill and work wonders in their lives.
“Allow the Blood of Jesus to cleanse and change you.” The clergyman beckoned. “The Blood of Jesus can make you a new person. It will purge and cleanse you. So long as you encounter the Blood, it will give you a new identity, no matter how you are brutalized you are. Allow the Blood to recreate and change you. We are product of God’s mercy. The Blood of Jesus has the power to forgive you. Decide now and meet Jesus at the table of forgiveness.”
“We are cleansed by the Blood of Jesus. You will be healed when you enter the Blood of Jesus. It does not matter how degenerated you are, all you need is to enter there. The power in the Blood will change your situation. It will bring restoration to your life. The glory that was lost in Adam was restored when the Blood of Jesus was shed. Demons tremble, occult men and women submit when you are immersed in the Blood of Jesus. You need the Blood to go far in life.”
