A priest of Onitsha Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Augustine Nweke, has urged Christians to embrace the life of righteousness. He made the call while preaching a homily last Sunday, June 29, 2025, at St. Thomas Parish Uke.
According to Fr. Nweke, every Christian should desire to live a righteous life that brings them closer to God. “Living a righteous life requires us to always submit ourselves to the will of God and persevere in faith, no matter the tribulations we may be facing,” he said.
He advised Christians to prioritize righteousness in their lives and not to seek miracles above all else. “When you begin to live a righteous life, God’s miracles will locate you every now and then,” he said.
Reflecting on the lives of Peter and Paul, who were set free from prison by the power of God because they persevered in faith and submitted to His will, Fr. Nweke enjoined Christians not to doubt God’s willingness to save them at all times.
“As Christians, we must persevere in faith and good works,” he emphasized. Fr. Nweke also stressed the need for Christians to return God’s love to them by living a life of love, caring for others, being charitable even to strangers, shunning selfishness, and forgiving those who have wronged them unconditionally.
By living a life of righteousness and love, Christians can deepen their relationship with God and become a source of blessing to others. Fr. Nweke’s message serves as a reminder to Christians to prioritize their faith and live a life that is pleasing to God.
