The chairman All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra state chapter, High Chief Barr Ifeatu ObiOkoye on Wednesday expressed optimism that APGA candidates in the rerun election coming up in February 2024 will emerge victorious because of the giant strides APGA government led by Gov Chukwuma Soludo has achieved in the state in less than two years.
While extolling Governor Soludo for fulfilling his campaign promises within 18 months, he urged Anambrarians to always look at the indices – what APGA government has been able to achieve since Gov Soludo mounted the saddle each time they want to cast their votes, adding that every candidate presented by APGA has the capacity to deliver irrespective of the post the candidate is vying for .
He disclosed that there is 16 units in Nanka where rerun for Federal house of election will take place. Other areas are Nnewi. ” We won at Nnewi North and south and Ekwusigo and we are going to win it again. We believe that the performance of the governor will bring victory to all the APGA candidates during the coming rerun. It will not be about the individual candidates but it will be the stability of the state electorally and it will be about confirming the performances of the governor so far. It will also be about sending messages to some people who are warming up from that zone to contest for the governorship. I must assure us that APGA candidates will win the election. This election will surely strengthen our growth as party electorally. Even in Olumba, the result of the rerun will be to our advantage”.
He called on Anambrarians to troupe out enmass in the affected units in order to deliver APGA candidates as that will be a step in the right direction.
The chairman reminded Anambrarians that what will define next year governorship election in Anambra is not the noise but the indices on the ground.
” Principally, we have governor who is serving us very well and whose performances will define our strength. My joy today as the chairman of the party is that in less than two years, Mr governor has built up to 400 kilometers of roads, employed 5000 teachers within a short time in office. Currently he is recruiting another set of 3000 teachers. He has already empowered about five thousand youth with two billion naira for one youth 2 skills programme that is going on now. The scond phase will take place later in the year. He is providing free education from JSS1 to JSS 3., free antenatal for women. More so, he is giving the young people skills that can be exported beyond Anambra. In other words, our governor has touched lives, physically, infrastructurally and in human capital development . Without mincing words, his style of administration is different because he is teaching the citizens how to catch fish and not giving them the fish. We Anambrarians should focus on the performances of the governor not the noise..Previous years, we had about how results has been written already in Abuja and now what we are hearing is the repeat of such noise. Anambra cannot be quarantine in such cheap blackmail. The mass return at Ukpor in this recent festive period is an indication that the governor is winning the war against insecurity. Our people should look at these as the indices and do the needful during election for progressive continuity.
