The Parish Priest of SS John and Paul lba Pope Awada Obosi, Very Rev. Fr. Victor Mbanisi and his leadership of the Catholic men organization led by Evangelist Ephraim Emelueje and his lieutenants has successfully held the 2024 fathering Sunday ceremony, featuring the unveiling of the statue of their patron saint, st. Joseph and the installation of “lgwe’ lBA pope worldwide.
The ceremony which started with a holy mass was chairmaned by Omenyiri of Akokwa, the chairman of Onitsha plastic dealers Association. Dignitaries from far and near attended the ceremony which was flagged off by Rev. Fr. Mbanisi with preliminary match past by the members of the CMO from different zones.
Speaking to newsmen at the occasion, the chairman of the Catholic men organization SS John and Paul Awada, Evangelist Ephraim Emelueje described this year’s fathering Sunday of the parish as spectacular, given the production and unveiling of the statue of their patron saint and the election of ” lgwe gburugburu of the parish. He described St Joseph, their patron saint as a humble and faithful man whom every family and the members of the Catholic men organization should follow his exemplary family lifestyle!
Evangelist Ephraim Emelueje used the opportunity of the 2024 fathering Sunday in admonishing the Catholic fathers to live up to their family responsibilities, emulating their patron’s saint reasonable lifestyle .
Also speaking to the Press at the occasion, the secretary of the parish CMO, Ambassador Paul Anekwe similarly described this year’s fathering Sunday events as peculiar in many respects, expressing appreciation to the support and blessings their parish priest was giving them in moving the organization ahead.
Others who underscored the importance of the fathering Sunday celebration at the parish, the unveiling of their patron saint statue and the election of their central lgwe included, Mayor Okwuchukwu Umeh, Bro.Ben Chikezie and the chairman of the planned “lgwe election, Mr. U, John amongst others. Bro. Ben Chikezie in his comment expressed happiness for the administrative ingenuity of the Very Rev. Fr Victor Mbanisi which in no small measure transformed the parish to standard. He similarly extolled the leadership of the parish CMO chairman, Evangelist Emelueje who he noted has brought some changes into the organization.
Highpoint of the fathering Sunday celebration was the presentation of trophy, cup to the different groups of the Church who emerged victorious in the competed events slated for the ceremony. About five persons from different zones of the Church contested the lgweship tussle among them were the lgwe Akarisia of St Patrick, the lgwe Ezeugo of John and Paul, the lgwe Christ the king, lgwe Ezeudoka and lgwe ” Jesu Amaka who eventually emerged the central lgwe of lba Pope.
