In a historic first, the Catholic Church is preparing to celebrate a special Jubilee for Catholic influencers and digital missionaries—formally recognising their role in spreading the Gospel online.
The event, set for July 28 and 29, 2025, in Rome, will bring together nearly 1,000 content creators from around the world, especially from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. These are men and women who share the message of Christ through social media, blogs, video platforms, and mobile apps—bringing light into the ever-growing digital world.
Organised by the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication, the Jubilee will run alongside the Youth Jubilee and marks the Church’s growing commitment to evangelisation in the digital space.
For those who can’t travel to Rome, virtual participation is still possible. Interested digital missionaries can register through www.digitalismissio.org, and two of the main sessions will be livestreamed on YouTube via La Iglesia Te Escucha (“The Church Listens to You”).
This Jubilee reflects Pope Francis’s call during the Synod on Synodality to bring the Church closer to people everywhere—even online—ensuring no one is left out.
The event includes three key parts: a spiritual pilgrimage through the Holy Door for inner renewal, a learning phase with talks and workshops offering useful tools for digital mission, and finally, a joyful celebration in Rome’s Piazza Risorgimento, where music, art, and creativity will take centre stage.
