There was joy among parents and newly admitted seminarians as the newly established St Paul Seminary,Igbariam opened for studies on Saturday September 26,2023.
The cynosure of all was one master Ekene Okolo Victor Chukwubuikem who made history as the first to arrive the seminary and was received by the Rector of the seminary Rev Fr Hilary Obi Nweke among other students who became pioneers in the seminary.
The new St Paul Seminary Igbariam is the first seminary of the newly created Catholic diocese of Aguleri where seminarians would be trained to become priests.
The first seminarian,master Ekene Okolo was spotted as he was led by his parents and siblings into the warm embrace of the Seminary Rector,Rev Fr Hilary Obi Nweke who acknowledged him as the first to arrive the seminary.
According to Ekene Okolo’s mother who spoke with Trinitas on telephone,little master Okolo was born on 22nd October 2012 and hails from Amanuke in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
His mother Mrs Immaculata Chinelo Okolo,master Ekene attended Blossom Fount Model School,Ogidi and was the youngest Altar Knight (Mass Servant)at the age of 5.
It would be recalled that the new St Paul Seminary,Igbariam was announced during the canonical erection of Aguleri Diocese which saw the installation of Bishop Denis Isizoh as the pioneer Bishop of Aguleri diocese on Friday 17 March,2023.
While announcing the establishment of the seminary,Rev Fr Hilary Obi Nweke was also announced as the pioneer rector of the seminary.
