The Bodija 92 set held their 31st annual reunion in Owo, Nigeria, from January 15 to 17, 2025.
The event was under the auspices of Very Rev. Fr. Patrick Olugbenga Eyinla, who also celebrated his 60th birthday.
A pilgrimage to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Owo, was the highlight of the 3-day program. The church was the site of a terrorist attack on June 5, 2022, where 42 worshippers were killed. The group, at the Church and the two separate memorial parks erected by the Church and the State, relived the pains of the martyrdom of those killed, prayed for the eternal repose of their souls, and for God’s comfort for those left to mourn the loss of their loved ones.
The class also prayed for the bishop, the people of Ondo diocese, and the town of Owo, that their faith would grow stronger as they heal from the tragedy
The class had considered Owo as venue of its 2025 reunion in line with a primary objective of their annual gathering which is to encourage one another and give support to anyone who may be in need. “Encourage yourselves daily while it is still ‘today’, so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin.” (Heb. 3:13).
During the reunion, the class offered Holy Mass for their deceased colleagues: Bishop Paul Olawore, Fr. John Awaeba, Fr. Ezekiel Owoeye, and Fr. Paul Oredipe.
Attendees included Frs. Francis Adedara, Stephen Folorunsho, Anthony Ozele, Patrick Udotai, James Morkor, Justin Udomah, Michael Umoh, James Dukiya, Patrick Eyinla, Cyril Ogedengbe, and Patrick Feyisetan.
