Parishioners of the Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity,Onitsha expressed their immense joy as they once again joined other christians across the world to affirm the Kingship of Jesus Christ.
This year’s procession last Sunday, was low keyed and limited to the Basilica periphery and premises against the previous long distant walk.
Members of the clergy, people of consecrated life and large number of the lay faithful expressed their joy in various ways.
They chanted songs of praise, danced and beat various types of drums and gongs.
Members of the parish CWO came out in a special way on their uniforms and also the knights and ladies and many other societies and organisations. It was colourful indeed.
Chancellor of the Archdiocese Very Rev Fr Prudentius Aroh who stood in for Archbishop Valerian Okeke preached the Gospel maintaining that that Christ’s Kingship is uncontestable.

He gave biblical examples where powerful kings had tried to challenge the Kingship of Christ in various ways but failed woefully.
Fr Aroh charged the faithful to surrender entirely to God as it observed that the faith of some christians are wavering and based on what he called “externalism”and partial interest in the things of God.
He also charged them to make Christ the landlord of their homes if they must derive the full benefits of the mercies of Christ.
The Rector of the Basilica,Monsignor Nwokedi Ezumezu, the Vice Chancellor of the Archdiocese Very Rev Fr Dr Basil Ekwunife and other priests were present.
