Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Choir, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has been charged to love unconditionally as Jesus loved when He died to save the world. Very Rev Fr. Prof Peter Bauna Tanko gave this charged at the group’s 2024 Christmas Carol which took place at the parish, Sunday, December 1, 2024. Fr. Tanko told them to show love to one another through visitation, sharing and caring for one another without expecting anything in return.
The group of singers was also lauded for sustaining the culture and values of the group for decades against all odds. The Patroness of the group, Prof. (Mrs.) Eugenia Chika Akpa who gave the commendation at the same event thanked the choristers for making out time to practice for the carol and assured them that God will reward them for their dedication.
She said, “I want to really appreciate these young ones who have kept the fire burning. I must confess that the preparation the choir has been into for almost a month has paid off. Please, do not relent. It pays to serve Jesus. May the Lord continue to bless your wonderful voices!”
The event which featured presentations from the Children Choir, the CWO Choir, the Charismatic Choir, families and individuals was wrapped up with the closing prayer offered by the Chairman of the Parish Council, Prof. Ferdinand Asuke who thanked God for a successful carol even as he prayed Him to lead everyone to take the blessings to the members of their families. He also prayed that the joy of the Season abides in their homes.
