A 10-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his Police officer father in Anambra State, Nigeria, on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
According to Anambra State Police Command Spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, the child, unaware the AK-47 rifle was loaded, discharged the weapon, striking his father in the back and injuring a sibling.
The father, Inspector Amechi, died at the hospital, while the injured child is reportedly recovering.
The Police have recovered the rifle and are investigating the incident.
The Command while wishing the second victim a quick recovery, condoles with the family and friends of the late Inspector.
