BY REV. FR. GERALD NWAFOR
The only problem I see with Mr. Peter Obi is an Igbo man who contested to be the president of Nigeria and won a landslide to the chagrin of the cabal called the political class in Nigeria. The other problem of Mr. Peter Obi is not agreeing to forgo his mandate after he has been rigged out. The courage to take on the establishments and the ruling class to court and say to their faces that he would prove to them that he won the February 25th presidential election is threatening to say the least. The other wahala is the fact that he is an Igbo man who came from an unknown stock.
Nobody from the Obi family has been a political stalwart or in the corridors of power. The unknown Obi has the guts to stand in front of the Pontius Pilates, Herods, and Caesars of Nigerian politics. So, for the political class, this is a very big problem but for us, the common Nigerians, our hope of good government has never been brighter. In the West, they have an adage that states that one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure.
Peter Obi is the problem of the establishment, and they want to get rid of him by all means. But the same person (Peter Obi) is the hope of the youth, along with the majority of Nigerians. Peter is the solution, not the problem.I have watched the inside job of Judas and the betrayal of Jesus. I can deduce with prophetic certitude what the inside job of the Labour Party is planning. Some people inside the Labour Party have been paid to destabilize the Labour Party, so that Mr. Peter Obi should be thrown away and his court case quashed. The Igbo-ness in Mr. Peter Obi has not even come out and the establishment is trembling.
The court case has plaintiffs Mr. Peter Obi and the Labour Party. I don’t know who would inform the ruling class that even if they succeed in destroying the Labour Party they would still be in court because Mr. Peter Obi would be on their neck. Besides, let me warn the Judases in the Labour Party that the first Judas did not find it easy after betraying the good master. We were told that he committed suicide. Therefore, the 21st-century Judas will have more calamity waiting for him. Although Peter did not consult them before taking off from PDP, according to Atiku Abubakar, they did not wish him well and they didn’t see him succeeding in the political terrain of Nigeria where money and power is the order of the day.
Peter knew that they would discourage him by telling him that he had no structure. And he avoided them very well. The problem that Peter stated that it is not anyone’s turn to rule Nigeria; this is a problem to the APC candidate who has said many times that it is his turn to rule Nigeria. The problem that Peter has a lot of statistics on his brain is another worry for the ruling class, in that they refused to debate him from the get-go.
We should not be surprised that the opposition has been trying everything to get rid of Peter. The Obidients should be smart not to engage in diatribe with some unscrupulous person paid by the ruling party to disorganize the Obidients. First, why should any sane person respond to Femi Fani Kayode (FFK)? Was he not the same person who told us that APC was a party of thieves? Today he has joined the party of thieves to attack Peter Obi.
That is to say, he is now a thief, or he is planning to become one of the thieves. Moreover, we are duly informed by the government of River state that Peter Odili gave FFK two billion Naira when he was the minister of aviation in 2007 to repair Port-Harcourt international runway. The money has not been accounted for till today. So, why should we waste saliva with such a person? I would not go in the direction of Wole Soyinka because we all know that passing six is not passing sense. If you look at the barrage of problems associated with Peter Obi you will conclude that the major reason all these shenanigans are playing out is that he is from the southeast, an Igbo man, a Christian, and a very clean politician who has no dirt on him. I wish them well in their expedition to steal his mandate given to him by the Nigerian public, especially the army of young people popularly known as the Obidient-Movement.
Buhari was heavily voted for by the northern people in 2015 and in 2019 nobody called him an ethnic bigot. In the same electoral years, the Muslims voted for Buhari no one said he is playing a religious card. In 2014 when the APC government was in opposition, they threatened to establish a parallel government if they didn’t win the election; nobody shouted treason or fascism. Today the Labour Party has not threatened parallel government and the ruling party is shouting treason everywhere. Obi has said publicly that people should not support him because he is Igbo or a Christian and the ruling party is shouting ‘religious-sentiment and ethnic-bigot.’ So, I ask again what is the actual problem with the Nigerian ruling class against Obi? What are they afraid of?
