The chief shepherd of the Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace, the Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, recently charged Christians to take the Blessed Virgin Mary home by saying their rosary frequently, as that remains a veritable weapon to conquer temptations and free oneself of every evil trap the enemy has set.
The prelate gave the advice while delivering a homily during his pastoral visit to Blessed Tansi Parish, Umudioka, on December 27, 2022.
He narrated a story of how he ran into armed robbers who rained bullets on his vehicle when he was still a rector of a senior seminary, but the bullets couldn’t penetrate his car, let alone hurt him. He attributed that miracle to the rosary he had been saying while driving his car that same day.
He further enjoined the people of God to aspire to be close to the Mother Mary as John the Apostle was, adding that with such effort, miracles will never cease to occur in our lives. We shall not see evil, and shame resulting from failures and hardship can never take over our lives.
