Former Super Falcons star and assistant coach Maureen Madu has praised the efforts of the NFF to ensure the team takes part in the Revelation Cup.
According to Made the four-nation tournament is top class and will prepare the team well ahead of the FIFA Women World Cup.
The Super falcons will play their first game on Wednesday when they take on Mexico before going up against Colombia on Saturday then Costa Rica on Tuesday.
“I have to be honest, Kudos must go to the NFF for giving them this kind of competition to be able to prepare them for the World Cup,” Madu told FL.
“What happened in the Nation’s Cup is bygone and we are looking forward to the World Cup, so this kind of grade A competition is what is going to prepare them very well for the World Cup.”
She said the tournament will give coach Randy Waldrum the chance to fine tune his strategy ahead of the World Cup.
“Once again, we also have to talk about the result because our pride as a Nigerian is at stake. The Coach has his objectives, one is the pride of Nigeria and second is that we go there to play for result. Also, he’d use that opportunity to prepare a team to go for the World Cup.
“Every coach is different while some will say they are not after the result. Some will say they are after result because of the price attached to it, while others will say they want to use it to blend the team and also pick the players they think will be the best.”
