Super Falcons are a lot better than they were last year when against most expectations they came out of “The Group of Death”, according to coach Randy Waldrum.
“I like what I have been seeing. We had a good time in Spain and since we arrived France, it’s been fantastic and wonderful,” remarked Waldrum.
“The players are ready to go. We are in better condition than we were a year ago.
“The team have continued to improve since the World Cup. Hopefully, we will see that when we face Brazil, a very good side.”
It is 16 years since both teams last clashed at the Olympics
The Super Falcons lost 3-1 to Brazil in a final group game at the Beijing Olympics.
Perpetua Nkwocha put Nigeria ahead from the penalty spot only for Cristine to fire a hat-trick for Brazil to advance to the quarterfinal.
