The Chief Shepherd of Onitsha Archdiocese, His Grace Most Rev. Valerian Okeke, on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, urged Christians to be a manifestation of God’s presence in the world. The prelate made the call while preaching a homily during his pastoral visit to Our Lady Queen of Peace parish, Fegge, Onitsha.
According to him, every Christian is a temple of the Holy Spirit, explaining that as temples, Christians are manifestations of God’s presence in the world. “From the point of baptism, the Holy Trinity begins to dwell in us, and at confirmation, the Holy Spirit adopts and possesses us. Therefore, to manifest the presence of God in the world, we must distribute love, truth, and be charitable with our gifts, and continue to transform the world.”
In essence, society should easily notice that we are Christians by the good life we live. Sometimes, pause and ask yourself: is the Holy Spirit still living in you, and what are the fruits you are bearing as a follower of Christ? Don’t allow sin to possess you because it will drive the Holy Spirit away from you. If you mistakenly fall into sin, ask God for forgiveness and confess your sin.
