St. Mary’s Parish Alor, on Friday, August 15, 2025, put smiles on the faces of the less privileged ones and poor among the parishioners by empowering them with funds and gifting them with food materials.
Trinitas correspondent learned that at least 10 persons were empowered with funds ranging from N100,000 to N200,000, while 50 others received food materials, including rice and tubers of yam.
The Parish Priest, Fr. Izuu Ifem, said the gesture by the parish was part of activities to mark the Feast of Assumption and to also celebrate the Year of Hope declared by the Church.
He made it clear that the church is theirs not only to receive but also to give out in times of need, adding that a hungry person may find it difficult to serve the Lord with sincerity of heart.
He charged the recipients of the funds to invest it into meaningful business that can help them gain more financial freedom.
The vice chairman parish council Mr Malachy Obimalume thanked the parish priest for the great gesture, advising the beneficiaries of the fund to utilize it very well.
Also , Parish CMO Chairman, Chief Law Chukwuemeka Okpala Okoye, Parish CWO President, Mrs. Veronica Igwe, and other parishioners poured encomiums on the Parish Priest for his usual magnanimity to the parishioners, describing him as an ebullient, dynamic, and kind-hearted priest who has the interest of his parishioners at heart.
The beneficiaries of the empowerment packages also appreciated the Parish Priest for his fatherly gesture towards them, praying God to bless him.
