In a remarkable achievement, St. Joseph’s Seminary Special Science School, Awka-Etiti secured the overall second position at the 2024 FAPSCON Young Scientists and Innovators Exhibition. The event, held at the ETF Auditorium of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam Campus, Anambra State, brought together bright minds from various schools in the region to showcase innovative scientific projects.
The prestigious exhibition was supervised by distinguished figures, including the wife of the Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, the Ag. Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Kate Omenugha, the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, the Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, and Professor Charles Ofoegbu, Chairman of Anambra Petroleum and Energy Resources Ltd. A panel of judges carefully assessed the projects on display.
St. Joseph’s Seminary Special Science School won the silver prize for their impressive creation of a mini inverter, a unique technological innovation that earned high praise from the judges. They finished second behind DMGS, Onitsha, which won gold for developing smart AI glasses for the blind. The bronze prize went to St. John’s College, Alor, for building a Digital Voltmeter and Atmospheric H20 Generator.
